When Raj begins working at his father’s South Asian grocery store, located in Houston’s historic Mahatma Gandhi District, he’s forced to confront the loss of his mother, past love, cultural and generational divide between him and his father, a bullying uncle, and insecurity about his identity as he struggles to break free from his roots.
